RDDI Invitation to Tender (ITT) Issued

The next phase of the Research Delivery Data and Intelligence (RDDI) programme is now underway, and the RDDI Invitation to Tender (ITT) went live on the Government’s Find a Tender service on 15 May 2026.

The ITT builds on extensive engagement with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the system reflects the needs of the research community. RDDI is a key component of the ambition to create a more efficient, transparent and data driven research delivery system across the UK. By improving access to high quality, near real time data, the programme will support better planning, performance monitoring and delivery across the research system.

What this means

The publication of the ITT initiates the formal procurement process for the new RDDI system. This is a significant step towards delivering a more coordinated and responsive research environment.

At this stage, there are no immediate changes to current services or ways of working. Research delivery activity should continue as normal.

Key dates

  • ITT published: 15 May 2026
  • Application deadline: 29 June 2026*
*Following supplier feedback, the ITT closure date has been extended by one week, from 22nd June to 29th June, to provide suppliers with additional time to prepare and submit their applications.

What happens next

Following the application deadline, the procurement process will move into evaluation, where submissions will be assessed. This will be followed by supplier selection and contract award.

Further detail on timelines will be confirmed as the process progresses, however due to the nature of the procurement process, there are strict confidentiality requirements. We will provide updates at key stages, with information that we are able to share, including once the evaluation process has concluded.
