Research Delivery Data and Intelligence (RDDI) programme update

Following engagement with the market during the procurement process for the Research Delivery Data and Intelligence (RDDI) programme, NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) have taken the decision to pause the current procurement while a structured review is undertaken.

The review follows a high level of engagement from prospective suppliers during the tender process and will provide an opportunity to review clarification questions, strengthen the information available to bidders and ensure there is a clear and consistent understanding of the programme requirements.

This decision does not change the strategic objectives or intended benefits of the RDDI programme. We remain committed to procuring a UK-wide RDDI solution that will provide unified, real-time data on clinical research performance and administration, supporting a more connected and data-driven research environment.

Taking this time to review the procurement will help ensure suppliers are able to submit stronger and more comparable responses, supporting the successful delivery of the programme.

We are currently reviewing the programme timeline and will provide further updates, including revised procurement timescales, as soon as they are available.

At this stage existing delivery arrangements remain in place, and research delivery activity will continue as normal while the procurement review is undertaken.
