A step change in UK clinical trial delivery

The latest UK Clinical Research Delivery (UKCRD) KPI report, published today on GOV.UK, confirms a step change in performance across our clinical research system.

By working as a single, coordinated partnership, we have successfully reduced average commercial interventional clinical trial set-up times from 169 to 122 days, surpassing our 150-day set-up ambition. This milestone is the direct result of a collective effort across UKCRD and industry partners, to cut unnecessary bureaucracy and standardise processes.

Together, we are building a more predictable and attractive environment for global investment, ensuring life-changing treatments reach NHS patients faster than ever before.
