Global COPD study activated in 81 days

With NIHR support, a global COPD study was successfully opened in just 81 days – nearly twice as fast as the government’s 150-day target. Delivered at the NIHR Bradford and West Yorkshire Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC), this rapid activation was driven by strategic guidance from NIHR’s Industry Hub and funding support through the Research Delivery Network (RDN), which helped streamline study set-up processes and overcome bottlenecks.

By deploying dedicated start-up teams and real-time oversight models, the UK is proving its ability to offer commercial partners the speed and predictability required for high-performance research.
